A short ride of 30km,one and a half hour of riding on rather flat terrain to Picton,straight to the Bluebridge Ferry office to check on the schedule for crossing to Wellington,unfortunately, the tickets for 2pm crossing were sold out and I the clerk put me on waiting list and told me to come back by 1pm to check on the outcome. The next crossing is on 7pm which I am not interested to arrive midnight in a city to look for accommodation.So my plan is to buy a ticket for tomorrow 2pm crossing and put up a night at the same Backpackers in town which I had stayed before after 1pm. If I am able to squeeze in today,the same ticket can be used for today. By 1.30pm the anxious wait is over with a good news that I can take the 2pm ferry. While on the boat,I felt seasick and vomited over the toilet bowl for 5 minutes before I can calm down and walked back to my seat. The Cook Strait is extremely rough today which makes the boat swinging left and right,up and down,just couldn't walk straight. The ship docked in Wellington terminal by 5.30pm ,the Lodge in the city Backpackers was a big disappointment when I cycled to inquire, they said the cheap 19 nzd rooms were sold out and whats left is 59nzd. Supposed to be the cheapest accommodation in the city just a sale gimmick to attract customers. Finally with a little navigation of my gps map,managed to locate Rowena's Lodge Backpackers for 24nzd tho the building is a bit old but the bed is comfortable with free WiFi. After taken a hot shower and a 15 minutes walked to the New World Supermarket to buy foods to prepare my dinner. Went to bed 11.30pm just too tired to do any blogging.
