NZ at this time has a longer daytime and shorter night, usually the sunrise by 6am and set by 8pm. This morning when i woke up at 7 already damn bright , and by the time i finished cooking breakfast and packing its 9.30am to roll out. It's another beautiful sunny day to cycle but the 1st 20km was really flat with nothing much worth stopping, what i really hate is the strong wind blowing mostly from my right side, and this makes me struggle even on a flat terrain. At 35 km i arrived in Kapu and taking a rest at the cafe, this is the junction roundabout, going straight is south to Paeroa, turning left is the hilly Coromandel Peninsular, turning right is Auckland. I am not going to Coromandel although i love mountains but i could not cover every corner of NZ in 2 months as advised by my NZ friend Arnold,so I am heading South to Paeroa on State Highway 26, this road runs parallel with the mountain on my left and a river lowland on the right,so it's rolling ups and downs. My initial target to Waihi didn't look achievable and so i shifted it to Paeroa which i managed to arrive by 4pm, and stop by the popular 4 Square supermarket to buy a beef shoulder meat ( 5.5 nzd)and a bottle of cooking oil (2.6 nzd), then i proceed to the free overnight parking campsite to stay for the night.
