Today's ride was long and hard, sunny weather except for a short spell of rain in Whataroa where i took shelter in a shade with a public toilet and had my packed lunch. Scenery was good with many wild green forest on a rolling terrain. Lake Ianthe was beautiful and allowed to camp but was bit of too early to stop the day.Snow capped mountain could be seen when i was near to Franz Josef .I had done the glaciers tracking before with a group of friend on self drive few years back. It will be very touristic in the town center of Franz Josef, so I opted for a wild camp few kilometers before reaching the town. Tomorrow just need to stock up some groceries in town before I proceed.
