Today have to be my worst day riding in a soaking wet condition under heavy rain without any shelter.The morning roll off time at 9 was cloudy accompany by CK Lee who wanted some workout following me for 22 km until Fox Glacier.CK on his superlight Brompton went ahead of me but always waited to see I was ok,and frankly the climb was tough with my fully loaded panniers, we arrived in Fox Glacier after a quick descent and CK treated me with a cup of hot coffee before we eventually saying goodbye to each other and promised to meet again in Malaysia. I recorded good mileage on a flat terrain after Fox Glacier to Bruce Bay. And then the nightmare started when the rain seems to be normal,suddenly came pouring heavily just like back home in Malaysia, the worst part is, there wasn't any shelter and I am forced to continue riding under heavy rain for half and hour with everything from head to legs all soaking wet, I decided to stop and camp when I saw lightning and I knew the danger and possibility is high to get strike. pictching a tent under rain is so much difficult but I did it with quick time. Well, there are some good days and some bad days,and this is called CYCLE TOURING!!!!
