A short morning ride back to the city center thru' the Mount Victoria Tunnel about 100m in length built in 1931. This is the 1st tunnel in NZ that i rode passed with a bike n pedestrian path high up from the road. Arriving at the Blue Bridge Ferry Terminal by 8 am but the ship has just left,so there is a long wait for the next one being schedule at 1.30pm, 3 hours to kill at the waiting room browsing the net and charging my battery. The fare is 53nzd for adult and another 10nzd for the bike, no scanning of my panniers, just wheeled my bike in together with all other passengers. The fare was rather expensive for a sailing time of 3.5 hours to Picton. Inside the deck,my bike was secured with ropes and proceeded to the upper passenger hall where there is a restaurant for foods and drinks,I brought along with my own coffee and there were hot water, sugar and milk provided free. I called up one of the budget accommodation in  Picton as it was already too late to start a ride by 5 pm,moreover I was feeling a little sea sick, checked into the Jade Lodge near the terminal for 23 nzd for an 8 bed dorm. Went to supermarket to buy some groceries for tomorrow ride, and also cooked a dinner for tonight dinner. Today is my highest spending so far.
